Software testing is one of the most popular verification and validation techniques used today and when used in an effective way, provides important evidences of quality and reliability of a product.

However, there is still a huge gap between industry and academia. In addition, software systems have become more complex with the advent of new technologies, such as embedded, distributed, real-time, cloud computing, mobile application along with iterative development and maintenance that demands effective management and regression testing. An enormous effort is still needed to deal with the testing challenges posed by both theory and practice of software engineering.

SAST - Workshop on Systematic and Automated Software Testing started in 2007 and since then has become the main forum in Brazil for bringing together the research community in software testing. Therefore, the main goal of SAST is to build a forum for meeting and discussing issues and challenges about the testing systematization and automation area fostering the cooperation among research and industry communities.

The 9th edition of SAST will be co-located with the Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice (CBSoft 2015) and will take benefit from other important joint events, such as the Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES), the Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages (SBPL), Brazilian Symposium on Formal Methods (SBFM), and the Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures and Reuse (SBCARS).

We look forward to see you all in Belo Horizonte!
